To have a decent snow storm towards the end of March here in southern NJ is certainly not normal weather. Nothing better than out of the norm to go out and make some photographs. I packed up my telephoto lens, and monopod then headed out to [Palmyra Cove Nature Park](http://www.palmyracove.org). I don’t have a specialized waterproofing case so I went with what I had - a trash bag! Nothing special but it did the trick. Interestingly the trash bag forced me to really want to commit to taking a photo before trying to carefully uncover and balance the whole mess on top of the camera to shoot in the sometimes heavy falling snow. I knew it was not going to be easy but I’m glad I decided to just go for it because I’m really happy with the set of photos I got and how different they are from the normal sunny days. Sometimes the hardest part for me is just making the decision to go out in bad weather but once I do I’m always happy I did.
Nature photography has become a very passionate hobby of mine and whenever I get a chance I love to get outside and enjoy being outdoors. I am also the co-owner of KGM Expressions, a wedding and portrait photography business, with my wife Kim. This is how we make our living and I love that we get to do that together.
