Every once in a while I'll bust out the old Nikon 105mm macro lens and try my hand at photographing the small things out there. Macro doesn't excite me the way bird photography does but I do enjoy some of the aspects of it. It's generally easy to find something anywhere you look, tiny insects are everywhere. It can also generate some really pretty to look at photos, especially when you find some colorful flowers. I spent an hour or so in a local field seeing what I could find and below are a few of my favorites.
