Scrub Jay Silhouette

Sometimes a photo is all about the background and that was the case with this Florida Scrub Jay. My sister and I spent an hour or so with a small flock of these curious birds. As the sun began to set the horizon was glowing a deep orange. This bird landed right in the open and I immediately scrambled to get in position to get this background. I stumbled through some thorny bushes that hurt and thankfully these birds don't care about people at all so it just stayed there. I was hoping to get a stronger outline of light on the bird but I couldn't get to a dark enough background for that, I needed to be about 2 feet taller to really get what I was after haha. In any case, I really liked how this one turned out and hope you do too.
