Scrub Jay Head Shot

Charasmatic is the word that comes to mind to best describe these Florida Scrub Jays. On this particualr outing my sister and I spent a couple hours with them one evening. We were standing along a boardwalk when suddenly this curious jay flew right over to us and landed in a bush less then 15 feet from me. I quickly had to move around just right to get a perspective to see through the bush to get a clear view of the jay. Once I found a small opening in the leaves and branches I was really hoping the bird would either give me a profile or look at me since it was mostly looking way. Finally it turned towards me and even gave me this great head on view. I was really pleased with the textures framing the bird and the very vibrant greens in the background. The soft light was pretty much perfect for a tight portrait like this as well.
