Pine Warbler and Lichen

With warbler photography I find it so often is all about the perch they land on. A beautiful bird on an ugly or boring perch often just doesn't cut it. This perch is anything but boring. When this bright yellow Pine Warbler landed on this perch I started shooting like crazy. Thankfully he started singing too and turned to give a perfect profile. His bright yellow stands out on the overcast day and the neutral background. The perch has such lovely lichen textures and growth it really gives it character and makes this one of my favorite Pine Warbler shots so far this year. Taken in southern New Jersey.
