Little Blue Heron at Sunset

This was a very friendly Little Blue Heron who had moments before waded by about 15 feet away from where I sat on the shoreline. I had just wrapped up an amazing evening of relaxing at a small beach near this inlet with my wife and mother and we were all enjoying the sunset. Once this heron moved by me I saw it headed into the direction of the setting sun and so I tried to get something a little creative with this silhouette. The bird gave me just the right profile and I was luckily able to get it in focus, which is always tough when shooting practically right into the sun. Taken in Vero Beach, Florida.

Nature photography has become a very passionate hobby of mine and whenever I get a chance I love to get outside and enjoy being outdoors. I am also the co-owner of KGM Expressions, a wedding and portrait photography business, with my wife Kim. This is how we make our living and I love that we get to do that together.
