Blue Heron and a Huge Shrimp

I was hanging out at a small beach with my family when this Little Blue Heron flew right in near us and began hunting. I only had by 70-200mm lens on and went over to see what it was up to. I couldn't believe when it pulled up this giant white shrimp! The thing was huge, I had no idea they got that big. The heron had some difficulty dealing with its catch and it took quite a while for it to manuever it around just right so it could swallow it down, which it eventually did. The light was not the best but sometimes the moment outweighs good light and this is one of those few cases where I really liked the photo because of the unique catch. The 70-200mm lens also gave a unique look that showed off more of the distant horizon than a super long tele would have done. Taken in Vero Beach, Florida.
