Nesting Time!

One of my favorite warbler photos this year because of the behavior it shows. Here a female Northern Parula gathers some lichen off the tree to use to build her nest for the spring. She flew right into this tree while I was standing there waiting for the male and grabbed the lichen. I was glad I was ready to capture this moment as she didn't stay long before heading off the wherever her nest was and she didn't come back again while I was there. She is such a pretty little bird with her soft blue tones, bright yellow breast and I really like the subtle green you can see on the back of her head.

Nature photography has become a very passionate hobby of mine and whenever I get a chance I love to get outside and enjoy being outdoors. I am also the co-owner of KGM Expressions, a wedding and portrait photography business, with my wife Kim. This is how we make our living and I love that we get to do that together.
