Black-throated Green Warbler

I don't get to see many of these birds each year but when I do I really enjoy it. I enjoy seeing them, photographing them however is a different story! Thankfully this bird hung out for a while with my friends as we frantically tried to get a clear view of it in a shaded area with a clean background. It sounds easier than it is, especially when its completely sunny out. I would have had a lot of options to choose from if it was overcast but with the full sun so many of my backgrounds were just blasted with light and looked horrible. I was really thankful when he landed here in this shaded area with a somewhat muted background and I also really liked the texture this background gave. I processed the background a little darker than in the original image and I like how it all came out. This was a very striking male as well with such a deep black throat you can clearly see here.

Nature photography has become a very passionate hobby of mine and whenever I get a chance I love to get outside and enjoy being outdoors.
