The Stump

While shooting with a friend we staked out this awesome mossy covered stump for a while and eventually this Black and White Warbler made its way down onto it. It ended up walking right to one edge and peering over the side to look for insects. I always enjoy watching these warblers as they look for insects, they really do check every hidden spot to find food and on a perch like this there are a lot of places to look. It was just before a storm hit the area and with overcast skies and an opening in the trees overhead it was like a spotlight of light coming down right on this stump. We walked back to the car in the rain but it was definitely worth it to get this shot.
