Least Tern After Sunset

I always try to remind workshop attendees that just because the sun has set doesn't mean you have to leave. We specifically stayed on this evening to see what the sky colors would do and thankfully it was worth the wait. A full 20 minutes after sunrise I took this photo by finding a small opening to shoot through the dune grasses and I went vertical specifically to include as much of the soft pink sky as I could. The pastel colors really looked great to me and I also liked the out of focus texture that the grasses helped to create in the sky.

Nature photography has become a very passionate hobby of mine and whenever I get a chance I love to get outside and enjoy being outdoors. I am also the co-owner of KGM Expressions, a wedding and portrait photography business, with my wife Kim. This is how we make our living and I love that we get to do that together.
