Chestnut-sided Warbler and the Green Vine

I've really been paying more attention to the perches the birds land on this year. I've always paid attention to the perch but now I'm really looking at the entire perch and when it makes sense and looks nice I've tried to include the entire perch. This was a perfect example of that where I rotated vertical just so I could include that vibrant green vine that nicely wrapped around the bare thorny brown branch. WIthout the vine I think the image would have been much more boring and the particular green of those leaves looked almost neon against the dark shaded background.

Nature photography has become a very passionate hobby of mine and whenever I get a chance I love to get outside and enjoy being outdoors. I am also the co-owner of KGM Expressions, a wedding and portrait photography business, with my wife Kim. This is how we make our living and I love that we get to do that together.
