Ovenbird Closeup

I've always struggled getting really good photos of this species in the past and finally I seem to have broken that curse this year. For this one the Ovenbird landed directly behind me and incredibly close. I slowly turned my camera towards the bird and ended up bending over in the most awkward position just to be able to look through my viewfinder. I couldn't entirely see through the viewfinder and just tried my best to point it towards the bird and started shooting. Thankfully I managed to find focus right as it was in full song. Finally seeing a more close up photo of this species I noticed how beautiful their markings and coloration are.

Nature photography has become a very passionate hobby of mine and whenever I get a chance I love to get outside and enjoy being outdoors. I am also the co-owner of KGM Expressions, a wedding and portrait photography business, with my wife Kim. This is how we make our living and I love that we get to do that together.
