Least Tern Checks its Egg

Just moments after sunrise this Least Tern was situating itself on the nest and looked down to check on its egg. I purposefully underexposed the image to highlight the sun glowing on both its head and beak and most importantly the feathers just above the egg that were catching just a touch of that golden sun. I really enjoyed the dramatic look of this photo and thought it captured an intimate moment in this bird's life.
