This is the closest I've managed to photograph a Black Skimmer in action and get a sharp photo. When ever they fly this close to me I always end up loosing focus. This was the only sharp photo of the series of shots I took as this bird blasted by right in front of me. The calm morning kept the water mostly flat and the soft backlighting really showed off that trail of water that comes up from dragging their lower bill in the water. I have really enjoyed the time I spent with this species this year and will still probably do another visit or two with them before they all head south.
