This Eastern Meadowlark had just come walking up through the grassy field and stopped rather close to me. It lifted its head in a classic Meadowlark pose to survey the surroundings. There was a light backlight to the photo where it stopped but the light was so soft and filtered through the clouds it worked out perfectly to give me a very pleasing portrait of this gorgeous bird with an equally gorgeous song.
