Least Tern and Glowing Dune Grass

I almost always photograph birds in the morning but with shorebirds often evenings can work just as well. For this photo I was able to set up in a great spot and simply wait for the sun to get lower in the sky and give me this beautiful glow I was able to get on the Least Tern. I made sure to stay a little bit further away so I could include a good amount of the pretty dune grasses that were also glowing in the golden sunlight just before sunset.

Nature photography has become a very passionate hobby of mine and whenever I get a chance I love to get outside and enjoy being outdoors. I am also the co-owner of KGM Expressions, a wedding and portrait photography business, with my wife Kim. This is how we make our living and I love that we get to do that together.
