My second visit to northern New Jersey in the spring of 2019 started off with a bang! I found a very cooperative Cerulean Warbler that gave me a bunch of great looks in a short period of time. From there things slowed down and the sun came out which made photography much more difficult. I did however stumble upon my first ever male Bay-breasted Warbler that gave me one single opportunity for a photo. I revisited the Lawrence’s Warbler I had found on my first visit and then went to another spot to scout for Black-throated Green Warblers. The surprise male Blackburnian Warbler that was waiting for me there would become one of my favorite warblers of the entire season. Check out the podcast episode that I just shared yesterday to listed to the detailed story of how that all happened. Below are some of my favorite shots from another great day chasing warblers.
