Resting Black-bellied Plover

A Black-bellied Plover resting in the shallow water. I stalked up to this bird by crawling on my belly for a decent distance. It still amazes me sometimes how you can crawl right up to these birds in the wide open space with zero cover and as long as you stay low and move slow they don't move. The light was just about perfect as the sun was setting through some thin clouds and so there was such a soft golden glow being cast on everything. I hovered my camera as low as I could over the water and got this shot.

Nature photography has become a very passionate hobby of mine and whenever I get a chance I love to get outside and enjoy being outdoors. I am also the co-owner of KGM Expressions, a wedding and portrait photography business, with my wife Kim. This is how we make our living and I love that we get to do that together.
