Bufflehead are notorious for being difficult to get close to and photograph. Just like many waterfowl they are very afraid of humans and usually take flight at the first sight of us. I’ve been working hard to figure out how to photograph them on a regular basis and I think I finally have it down! Of course these are wild ducks and just like any wildlife it’s never a guarantee but I have figured out how to increase the odds and get them a lot closer then normal. I’ll be setting out decoys to help bring them within photographing distance. I’ll take care of all the work setting up and breaking down, you just have to show up and photograph these beautiful ducks.
Option 1 - The Kayak Experience! - $400 with no time limit and only available 1-on-1
At Seaside Park, New Jersey, you will join me in a kayak (I’ll provide one for you) and we’ll paddle out into the back bays, I’ll set everything up and you can lay on a shoreline or join me sitting in the water if you own waders. This option is all about the experience, we’ll be away from most people and have some beautiful backgrounds and lots of ducks to photograph. Join me for this one if you want to get some great photos and also have an amazing time.
Option 2 - The Jersey Shore - regular pricing + $50
At Harvey Cedars, New Jersey access available for 1-3 people and only requires warm clothing. You will be set up along the shoreline to wait and photograph the Bufflehead.
Option 3 - The Delaware River - regular pricing:
